Does it make more sense to invest 3k in a coin at a lower price than Buying .0001 in a Bitcoin?

So I got in an argument with a coworker that thinks he's the smartest person on the planet. I told him its better to buy another coin at a much lower price and sell I and buy low. But he is set on buying and riding say 10 years when BTC is maybe 1 million dollars.

I told him that coins ride on other coins and what I am telling him to do is how crypto millionaires become millionaires.

He saids doesn't care about my calculations and I'm arguing with finance major or BS.

Does what I present make sense?

I invested 3k but the hypothetical was 2k I made a mistake in the subject also I added a tab for profit to address one observation from another comment someone mentioned.
